Acta Medica Marisiensis (ISSN 2068 – 3324) is a publication of the University of Medicine and Pharmacy of Târgu-Mureş edited by the University Press.

It publishes subjects on research and medical practice from the medical fields grouped in sections such as: reviews, original articles, case reports. The journal also publishes short informations on editorial news, scientific meetings and different aspects of the medical and academical life.

Since its first publication (1954) until 1997 it was issued twice a year. Since 1998 there have been published 4 issues and more supplements each year. The leading board of the journal consists of personalities of the international medical word such as professor Miklos Kasler, professor Francisco Nogales who confirm the quality of the journal.

Members of the editor council, personalities of the medical life who are also members of the Romanian Academy of Medical Science have contributed to a high scientific standard of the medical information. We should mention here professor Radu Deac, professor Monica Sabau and professor Carol Csedo.

The journal is known in the medical world, there is a continuous exchange of publications with libraries and institutions from other countries. Famous names, internationally recognized specialists such as professor Sheldon Spector, professor Louis J Ignarro, professor Gabriel Vittu, professor Christos S Mantzoros, professor Manfred Anke have published in this journal.

Besides medical personalities, there are many young doctors and students who publish in the journal. This is a proof of the policy carried on by the university, that is to encourage the dialogue professor – student or researcher – practitioner as a bridge between generations.
